Self Fulfilling Prophecies

In politics on March 10, 2017 at 5:34 am

The other day I stopped at the car wash to clean my car out. I was taking it in to be serviced. It’s a newly purchased vehicle and a flat out lemon. In any event I stopped to clean it out. While realizing my phone was dead and I needed to charge it I walked to the other side and locked myself out. I literally had nothing keys, phone, or handbag. It was all in the car. In that period of being locked out I took the time to ponder if that were my status in real life what would I do?

The two individuals at the car wash allowed me to use the desk phone where I called road side assistance which took about two hours to come so I pondered and pondered my fate and if this were my real status what would I do? So as I stood there I began talking to one of the attendants he stated to me that he thinks it’s really sad when people get locked out because of the cost. I said yes and I am grateful for roadside assistance. He then began to tell me a story of a woman who had gone to the locksmith down the street and run off eight keys so she would not get locked out of her vehicle. She came to wash her car and in an ironic moment locked herself out of the car with the eight keys in the car. At that moment I had a flashback of her pain and despair at that moment thought she was long gone. I commented wow she must have really been plagued by a fear of locking herself out to make 8 keys and then she turned around and locked herself out. I commented to the attendant that I had had a moment like that where my car battery would constantly die and as it continued to do this I started to perform actions that amplified the problem such as leaving the lights on in the car. I commented that it was almost as if I had the expectation and was willing my battery to be dead. I than had a light bulb moment that it’s the continuity of energy and the universe giving us exactly what we expect.

Realizing this was such an exciting moment for me. Though we were pondering on pain, I realized that the ironic moment of eight keys and being locked out the car was a way of demonstrating that the universe gives us exactly what we want and desire out of life. If we desire a negative out come and internalize negativity, this is what the universe will give straight back to us. The caveat is if we fill our lives up with positive thoughts and positive expectations the universe will manifest the good that we internalize immediately too. This is not just thinking positive this is tapping into the energy and the universal field of energy and the more we expect the more we get. Running off eight keys because of a fear of being locked out of one’s car manifested in being locked out again and manifested a fear. This woman could have had a million keys and she would have still locked herself out. So every day we must bombard the universe with positive thoughts with positive expectations and the universe will respond immediately to what we desire and what we want. So the next time you have a string of negativity turn it around and say everything will be OK. I’m so great at in my case turning my car lights off and believe. Every day we must believe mentally that we possess a million keys to the good the miraculous and the wonderful and it will manfiest. It’s a simple thing but the belief will manifest in wonderful things. O

Democrats Just Don’t Understand

In politics on January 14, 2017 at 3:53 am

Prior to Cory Booker’s joining Republicans in voting down a bill to make prescription drugs more affordable daily I would think the democrats don’t get it. In the bible it states God does not want lukewarm essentially he wants hot or nothing. Meaning either you are for him or not hot or cold not lukewarm. The currrent animal of mainstream democrats have no clue what they are they claim to be democratic donkeys but have dressed up as rabid Republican elephants every chance they could privately and now since the outing of Hillary Clinton as purchased bought and sold by the corporate world openly.

Now that Donald Trump has been elected by republicans, Bernie supporters, and disillusioned democrats top level democrats as in  people like Cory Booker think it’s alright to embrace bad corporate policies.  Sure people who would normally vote democrat voted for Trump or did not vote at all based on the belief that someone who has run a business may be able to successfully run a country.  We all believe corporate America works had and they embody the excellence of  the United States . Talking about security and servers and Russians United States corporations hire people whose only job is to watch their servers for intrusions. Clearly the democratic apparatus from the President down to the mainstream media do not have the expectations that a democratic party is capable or should have to do this.

It is evident that the democrats have seen American’s embrace of corporate excellence and now think it’s okay to show their real selves as in accepting bribes and kickbacks from corporations and frankly not giving a damn that people can not afford to purchase their medication but could if they could order it from Canada. The problem with this is that democrats literally can not see the writing on the wall. They don’t have the house. They don’t have the Senate. They don’t have the presidency and may lose the Supreme Court. Instead of looking inward and seeing how they can change their ways the mainstream democrats vote against affordable medication.  They just don’t get it.

The only hope the democrats have is in the guise of Bernie Sanders and instead of rallying around him they stubbornly stay on the path of disrespecting Bernie and his followers which I am one.  Clearly even now the democrats don’t realize the power of the vote. They are in a bubble. During the primary the dem appeared to be in a communist bubble, ie the voters don’t matter the party does and they disenfranchised millions of voters to show party leader hegemony. This did not work well for them the quote unquote unimportant primary voters rebelled and showed they had real votes in the general election.

Now finally I want to end with the democratic belief that their vision is clear and the rest of the folks have blinders on. Nothing so emphasized this as the Affordable Care Act which is about to be repealed. I’m so blind I don’t know that I am being forced to pay $300 dollars a month for healthcare and I have been to the doctor only once in years and my bill was an emergency room cost of $1500 which can be paid off by paying that in five months. Now I can go another eons without the doctor. The democrats don’t see that I can’t afford that and have offered me nothing.  The only people who have benefited from the ACA to my knowledge are insurance companies who now cover our bodies like a car but if you don’t have a car you  don’t pay insurance there is no out with the ACA.  This to me was the epitome of democratic arrogance and emphasized they thought I was blind and did not know that $300 dollars was an amount that I would miss.

Hypothetical Bill and Hillary Clinton OOPS!

In politics on March 2, 2016 at 5:45 am

Bill and Hillary Clinton Passed the Crime Bill three strikes and you are out and took away benefits from families. Lets see how this plays out.

James and Lisa live in AnyBigCity.  James is 40 and Lisa is 36.  They have come a long way since their youth.  They had a rocky start but seem to being doing OK in the 90’s. They have five kids and after five years on cash assistance Lisa has a job where she does not have to receive assistance anymore especially combined with Jame’s income who works at a bread factory.  James used to be a drug addict/dealer and has been convicted of two felonies both for possession but has managed to kick the habit of using and selling.  They are doing OK they have managed under a government program to buy a small house and their children are doing well in school. One day a coworker who sees that James has made it out of his situation comes up and smacks James in the head for no reason just because his wife is attractive and he seems to have a good life. James turns around and knocks him out cold. James is charged with felony assault convicted and sentenced to life in prison because it’s his third felony.

Lisa is left with five children to raise on her own and has lost the income of James. The children have lost a loving father that tried hard and are in disarray.  Meanwhile Lisa in order to make up the income of James goes and applies for public assistance because she can’t pay the mortgage. She is denied. She has gone over the life time limit. They tell her to move into public housing and to try to get section 8 but they really don’t care about her desire to own a home.  In the meantime she has five boys and they need their father.  They eventually are foreclosed on and end up in a homeless shelter.  Lisa has three jobs. She has no time to supervise her children slowly she begins a downward spiral and the children too. Lisa can’t figure out why her husband is in jail for hitting someone who hit him first and feels that all the plans she made through several generations have gone down the drain all because of inhumane policies implemented by Bill and Hillary Clinton. She know’s it’s not because she’s black because many others are of different races are in her situation too.

Psychological Torture at Druid Hills High School in North Dekalb

In Education, politics on January 14, 2016 at 6:59 am

My youngest child precociously brilliant has had a long tortured history with the North side of the County we live in.  Every time she excels in her test scores like when she scored at the top of advanced in all subjects especially math she received a letter from a North Dekalb elementary school where an astronaut had graduated from saying come here. The black teacher who taught her math kept her from recess or lunch I don’t remember which because her problem was wrong. This was psychological torture.  I watched this black teacher preen and pet white students like she was Aunt Jemima on a plantation or better yet Stephen the Butler in Tarantino’s Django. I could not help but believe the purpose of their inviting my kid to this school was to take her light and destroy her. I withdrew her to home school her where she still excelled on her standardized tests and did her work.

My son attended a middle school not quite in North Dekalb it was in Tucker and began with a school that had a lovely staff.  A male white principal, a supportive black counselor who graduated from Columbia University and teachers of all races that were very good. I mention Columbia University because when you have educators from elite colleges on staff in the South and I mean it with a Capital S, you know that the principal and administrators are about the business of educating children and not blackmailing teachers  to do what they want to do for a job.  In my son’s last year they got a new principal and I wanted to mention this because of my daughters plight with a principal with the same last name, I heard a member of the PTA say to the principal you have to do these things in order to get the kids from the private school to come here…… As my daughter had her spirit treaded on and jumped on at Druid Hills High School, I often ponder on these words and wonder if there is a family of Django’s with the same last name in Dekalb County destroying black children for their plantation owners.

I always blame my kid’s plight on me.  I hate to look in the mirror and see myself look ugly which I can look if I choose to.  My son figured it out early.  He can get a haircut and look like a GQ model.  I would instruct the barbers to give him an awesome fade and he began to tell them just shave it off.  My son finally told me if he wanted to get good grades he had to look plain. In this county that’s all I see is plain women with short hair in pants. Personally, it looks like a county of women who have given up their femininity as in don’t try to look good on this plantation. Unfortunately, I show it all my cleavage my legs and choose to wear a wig which actually my alum at Georgia State in Atlanta suggested I do, which did make me feel better and much less insecure as a woman.   So this is what makes me stand out and thus makes the PTA determined to get rid of us.

My daughter received many invitations and acceptances to come to schools across Dekalb because of her high test scores. The first one was Stephenson High School which she chose to go to because of it’s proximity to our house.  We have a high school in front of us which is excellent but my kid refuses to wear a uniform and I know it’s discrimination pure and simple to have black poor kids wear uniforms and affluent white or black kids wear what they want.   I had to withdraw my kid out of Stephenson the first week because my kid had a dress and leggings on and security called me to bring her new clothes. Now my kid is offended by JLO saying JLO got a big ole butt so their was nothing inappropriate about her dress. It was pure and simple meaness on the the part of the administration or security that caused this to happen. So I looked at one of the other letters and said hmm let’s try this school it is an IB school even thought it’s far.

The reality was and is this school tries to psychologically destroy and does not accept intelligent black children as defined but 90th percentile on the PSAT which would have been higher if she had not attended that school in her ninth grade year. My kid who is very quiet like a shy mouse has been publicly embarrassed and called out by teachers. She has been subject to a grading system that is incomprehensible, meaning the teachers just come up with a grade out of their heads.  My kid who always turns in her work sometimes it’s been late has been subjected to a 25 percent deduction for each day her work was late  which not even in college have I ever seen before and all of this from not one teacher who comes from an elite college when the high school is practically on the grounds of Emory University and sits beside the medical school. It is rather perplexing that this school does not hire a prestigious staff but the reason is people from elite universities are not bots and are not trying to collect a check by being the administrators puppet.

I think the most egregious thing tha destroyed my kids spirit was coming an hour to school in heavy traffic and being two minutes late, having to wait fifteen minutes for a late pass, and when she got too many of these tardies being given detention and threatened with in school suspension.  The traffic is a nightmare and we left home at least an hour and thirty minutes before school started to get there each day and could still be late but my daughter started to do her work.   My daughter’s spirit was really broken when she was making A’s and B’s and they started putting in her progress report sheet you are not making the standard prepare to leave at the end of the year. This really depressed her and she started to ask me what did that mean? I said it might be because of the tardies but after she received the letter for a third time this kid literally shut down and said this is what they expect from me this is what I will give them and she under performed.  This was Psychological torture at Druid Hills High School a North Dekalb High School in Georgia.

As I finish with this I have other stories like the BETA club discriminating against black and students of all races students they can’t join without prior volunteer experience which is pretty hard to get if your family works and you don’t have transportation…

Taxpayers Fund a Losing Political Process

In Congress, democrats, elections, politicians, politics, Race and Class on January 13, 2016 at 2:15 am

My young adult son constantly barrages me with political questions while giving a lot of historical facts that are amazing.  For example I asked him why are some of the Irish so dark.  He said Spain. Why are the Indians from India so dark? He said Persia, and on and on and on. Today I had to tell him that black people might protest themselves into apartheid because they will not vote.  Ferguson is a huge example. Instead of voting in and voting out proper and improper political representation the citizens of Ferguson let a situation simmer and than burn out of control.

It is easy for me to say that citizens don’t vote.  However as I pondered this explanation, the core reason is citizens don’t vote because the United States funds two political parties that don’t really want people to vote. The party that is the guiltiest is the democratic party as the former first lady treats the presidency like a dog with a bone and the democratic party supports it.  In a fair world this first lady would be gracious and say I’ve been in the white house for eight years and I want my legacy to be helping another woman to get into the white house. Not in the two party system we live in. Not where politicians have almost scotus credentials in elected political offices.

If tax payers fund political parties the U.S. should mandate that parties engage in political educational activities, publicly post meetings, and have a minimum of four candidates on ballots. Furthermore, elections should be clearly announced and efforts should be made to recruit people of all backgrounds. At this point the United States is stuck on something not resembling democracy because of the selfishness of the politicos in office. It needs to stop and it needs to be regulated.

Ben Carson Time and Place

In politics, presidential race on November 9, 2015 at 2:46 am

Let me caveat my post by saying that I am a Bernie Sanders supporter and I will be voting for him.  Just like Kanye West plays the race card for Kim Kardashian and how her dad was the lead attorney on the OJ Simpson case.  Let me say, I think he’s not guilty, just read a little to find out who did it.  I play the Bernie Sanders race card for all who will listen.  While I am not a supporter of the Israeli state. Taking people’s land and putting them into an apartheid state is not cool. I do know that Jewish people were on the buses that were bombed when blacks fought for civil rights.  When there were dead bodies found of civil rights protesters a Jew was among them.  When Bernie Sanders stated that he had been a civil rights protester in the 60’s he had my vote by fiat (let it be). In all seriousness outside of Bernie the relationship between blacks and the democrats is outright pathological.  Vote for a democrat and you will get to smoke pot until you don’t know your name, and your sperm count is low. Vote for a dem and you get to kill the baby in your stomach at nine months. Vote for me and I will arrange for all the bad kids to go to the Ivy League, good kids fuck off.  Cough never mind about the job, as for Bill you don’t need welfare or a job.  Hmm maybe I can get the pretty unwed mothers a job as a hooker…. says Bill.

In any event, BEN CARSON….. A liberal abortion paying for reporter has started to delve into Dr. Ben Carson’s background and call him a liar.  I even heard one pundit say something about well they don’t give scholarships to West Point it’s free.  It’s free.  Well i suppose a scholarship is a paid for gift, it’s free. I think if you are accepted to any military academy you receive a scholarship.  It’s pretty desperate of the Hillary supporters to say that a scholarship is not a scholarship even if every one in the school receives one.  It’s down right sickening, next….

Ben Carson said he was admitted to West Point.  He spoke to someone and they said he’s in.  That’s how they did things in the 60’s with a promise and a handshake and a make it happen. That’s not how they do things today……. Does the current media know the difference between then and now and how culture has changed. NOPE

If they don’t let’s work in their Paradigm Dr. Ben Carson graduated from Yale which has a current acceptance rate of 3 percent. West Point has an acceptance rate of 9 percent.  Wow itty bitty media figure that out.

Next, he lied about hitting his mom….. Oh really, Why would he do that? I don’t think that when he wrote the book he was aware that democratic constituents were pot smoking, baby killing, mother/wife beaters…. very desperate what are you trying to say about YOUR constiuents

I can’t wrap my brain around anymore minutae.

Dr. Ben Carson is a hardworking black man who wants a better world through his perspective and I have no problems with this.

Trump Update: He’s learning a softer side and it’s impressive. Watch out!

Problem Statement

In politics on July 23, 2015 at 10:22 am

Problem Statement

In 1948, Lester Guest (1948) wrote the following:
If psychologists are to attain dignity and respect in the eyes of the general public in order to fulfill
Their objectives and obligations, it is mandatory that they first find out what people know about
them, what attitudes about psychologists exist, and the sources of information that lead to these
attitudes and ideas.

Years later the I/O psychology field that provides personal and executive coaching faces challenges from
the business community that reflect the feelings of the quote above. There is a problem in the Industrial
Organizational Psychology field. Despite the fact that Industrial Organizational Psychologists are trained
to deal with work and organizational issues and cannot diagnose mental illness in the work place
(Spector, 2008), they are being viewed that way. This prevents them from being the logical choice for
coaching psychology in the workplace. Psychologists are unwelcome in organizations as coaches because
organizations believe they will diagnose mental illnesses while coaching their employees (Joo, 2005).
Individuals who are clinical psychologists and coaches have admitted that they think that they are better
coaches because they can diagnose mental illnesses (Hart, Blattner, & Leipsic, 2001). Some researchers
believe psychological practices are needed in coaching but do not believe psychologists are needed to use
them (Feldman & Lankau, 2005). In 1989 it was written the perception of psychologists has been an APA
concern for decades (Hartnett, Simonetta, & Mahoney, 1989). In the year 2015, these perceptions are still
affecting the ability of I/O psychologists to act as Coaching Psychologists.
This problem negatively affects coachees. Research has shown that individuals with a psychology
background are more effective at generating positive outcomes for coachees during executive coaching
(Bozer, Sarros, & Santora, 2014). Unqualified individuals as coaches can actually harm coachees (Palmer
& Whybrow, 2005).

A barrier that may prevent I/O psychologists from being welcome in organizations as coaches is a
perception among organizations and individuals that I/O psychologists as coaching psychologists
diagnose individuals. If organizations and individuals were familiar with I/O psychology and that they
cannot diagnose mental illnesses, they would not hold negative attitudes towards coaching psychologists
in the I/O field.
Current knowledge is incomplete as to whether most organizations and individuals are familiar with the
work and purposes of I/O psychologists. A search of perceptions of I/O psychologists, attitudes towards
I/O psychologists, and understanding of I/O psychology of EBSCO, Business Source Complete, Google
Scholar, and ABI inforum yielded no results of prior research into the area. In addition, a search of
perceptions of psychologists, attitudes towards psychologists, and public attitudes towards psychologists,
yielded less than five articles on the subject spread over 69 years. The oldest of the articles was the most
relevant to this study (Guest, 1948). However, all of the individuals surveyed would have to be over 89.
A research study that examines how I/O psychologists can differentiate themselves from clinical
psychologists through qualitative and quantitative research with directed action to change perceptions will
solve the problem.

Leadership Styles

In politics on July 23, 2015 at 10:14 am

Styles of Leadership

It is important to evaluate styles of leadership so that organizations can justify having leaders and ensure that leaders are keeping those they lead productive and content as they go about the work of the organization. Consequences of poor leadership can be a poor work product, attrition of employees, and harm to the organization and to the human beings that work there.  Human beings who have negative experiences with leaders can have a diminished sense of self-esteem whereas positive experiences can increase self-esteem (Hudson, 2013).

The Best and the Worst Type of Leadership Styles

There are numerous leadership styles based upon the style approach and the situational approach which center around how leaders relate to those they lead and how they direct or organize tasks.  There is a continuum of leadership styles but most generally agree that there is a worst one and though leadership may be situational there is an ideal best leadership style.

Apathy – The Worst Leadership Style

While it could be assumed that the worst leadership type would be authoritarian characterized by being demanding, overbearing, and not engaging in human relations (Northouse, 2015).  This is not the case.  The worst sort of management style is the apathetic managerial style referred to as impoverished management or a laissez faire style of management characterized by a leader being uninvolved and uninterested in those they lead.  An apathetic managerial style not only does harm to the individuals being lead but to the whole organization resulting in nonproductive or underproductive individuals (Skogstad et al., 2014).  In addition the effects of apathetic leadership in an organization can have effects lasting as long as two years (Skogstad et al., 2014).   Apathetic leaders can cause chaotic thinking, affect confidence, and stifle personal growth of those they lead (Hudson, 2013).

Transformational Leadership – The Best Leadership Style

The best leadership style has been called team management, constructive leadership, or transformational (Northouse, 2015) (Skogstad et al., 2014).  It is characterized by high levels of interaction and directed and clear task explanation and direction towards followers. This type of leadership can result in brief but not sustained job satisfaction (Skogstad et al., 2014).  However, this leadership style has the ability to increase the self-esteem, personal value, and security of followers (Hudson, 2013).

The Continuum of Leadership Styles

While the above styles are the best and the worst leadership styles.  There is a continuum of leadership styles that are used in various situations.  For example, in a family with young children the leadership style might be highly supportive and highly directive because the children are learning new skills and need instruction and support.  In addition, in the coaching of a sport a highly directive and highly supportive leadership style may be used to teach skills that can facilitate a win and support players to have the confidence to win.  In a workplace, the continuum of leadership styles are used based on the type of duties that need to be fulfilled.  For example, skilled employees with lots of commitment may need high support and low directives. Finally for a community event or volunteer organization where individuals are passionate for a cause they might need a leadership style that is highly directive such as how many doughnuts to sell, where to pick them up, and drop payment off with very little support from a leader.
